Turning Notch – Crane Rail Project
The Turning Notch Crane Rail Project was a major infrastructure upgrade at Port Everglades in Florida, designed to extend 100-foot gauge crane rails westward to accommodate new, large cargo handling equipment.
As the paving subcontractor on the project, General Asphalt mobilized its crews to the new wharf construction site. Putting down almost 22,000 tons of SP12.5 bituminous mix in 2- 2” lifts, we were pleased to be part of the construction operations that modernized the port’s marine and landside capabilities.
